  • Prof. Marcelo H Ang JrAg Director, Advanced Robotics Centre
    National University of Singapore,Singapore

    Biography: Marcelo H. Ang, Jr. received his BSc and MSc degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the De La Salle University in the Philippines and University of Hawaii, USA in 1981 and 1985, respectively, and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Rochester, New York in 1988 where he was an Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering. In 1989, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the National University of Singapore where he is currently Professor and Acting Director of the Advanced Robotics Center. His research interests span the areas of robotics, mechatronics, autonomous systems, and applications of intelligent systems. He teaches robotics; creativity and innovation; applied electronics and instrumentation; computing; design and related topics. In addition to academic and research activities. He is also actively involved in the Singapore Robotic Games as its founding chairman, and the World Robot Olympiad as member of its Advisory Council. Prof. Zhun Fan, Head, Department of Electronic and Information Engineering
Shantou University, China

  • Biography: Zhun Fan received the B.S. and M.S. degrees in control engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan, China, in 1995 and 2000, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from the Michigan State University, Lansing, MI, USA, in 2004. He is currently a Full Professor with Shantou University (STU), Shantou, China. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Director of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Digital Signal and Image Processing. Prior to joining Shantou University, he was an Assistant Professor, and then an Associate Professor at Technical University of Denmark. His major research interests include intelligent control and robotic systems, robot vision and cognition, MEMS, computational intelligence, design automation, optimization of mechatronic systems, machine learning and image processing. He has published more than 160 scientific articles, such as the IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and IEEE Transactions on Automation Science and Engineering.
 

Prof. Jangmyung Lee
Pusan National University, Korea

  • Biography: Jangmyung Lee has been a Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering, Pusan National University since 1992, where he is currently a director for the robotics research center, SPENALO. He received the B.S. and the M.S. degrees in electronics engineering from Seoul National University in 1980 and 1982, respectively and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering from University of Southern California in 1990. He is currently leading a research laboratory working on intelligent robots (http://robotics.pusan.ac.kr). His current research interests include intelligent robotic systems, integrated manufacturing systems, cooperative control and sensor fusion. Dr. Lee is an IEEE Senior member, and a fellow of ICROS. He served as a president of Korean Robotics Society in 2010 and as a vice-president of ICROS and IEIE several years. He was the general chair for IEEE AIM 2015, IEEE ICIT 2014, ICIRA 2013 and ICT-ROBOT 2017. He has several awards including the presidential award for the contribution to robotics in 2015.
